EVENT: Room 101 Cigars

On Saturday June 6th, House of Cigar in Powell Ohio, hosted "The Conspiracy Tour" from Room 101 Cigars. I was only there for 15 minutes, but I did get to talk to Matt Booth (creator of Room 101 Cigars) ask him about his new blend, and when we would see it on shelves. He told me to look for it after this Falls IPCPR show and that they were working on the blend as we spoke.Thanks to House of Cigar for putting on this event, and thanks to Matt for spending some time talking to me.

 

EVENT: Crooked Burn, Lounge 1492, New Havana Cigar Private Party

Last Friday (May 28th) was a big night for me and for my blog. It took a month of planning, and some ups and downs, but the night came, and the Crooked Burn, Lounge 1492, New Havana Cigars private cigar tasting party went off as a success. Dan from New Havana Cigars offered up two of his NHC Seleccion Limitadas to the first 40 guests, and they were greeted with high praise by almost everyone.  We had a great turnout of people coming and going throughout the night, and the party didn't stop until 1am. Big thanks goes out to Mario from Lounge 1492 for all his work with the guest list and with letting us use his space for the party, and to Dan from New Havana Cigars for offering up so many free top of the line sticks to those in attendance. EVENT: CAIN/NUB Tour

Friday night the Cain/Nub tour rolled into one of our local Tinderbox locations in Columbus.  The event was packed shoulder to shoulder but I did manage to corner Sam Leccia (creator of the Nub and Cain cigars) for a few minutes and ask what he has coming out in the near future. Sam very generously hooked me up with a Nub Cain F to that is set to be released this winter, and few sticks that he rolled on site for the event. Sam is a very nice guy and if you ever have the chance to attend one of these events, I highly suggest you do.

EVENT: Brick House

Friday night House Of Cigar (twitter link) hosted a event for the popular Brick House cigar. Although I am not a huge fan of this stick, it was still a good time hanging out with the guys and smoking a cigar.  Some pictures of the event below:

EVENT: CAO Lady Liberty stop

So yes, it was only a week ago that I was at a CAO event, but I get to see my friend Miguel so few times a year that it makes every CAO event worthwhile.This time, the event was even more cool because he brought the new CAO/Sucker Punch Sally's Lady Liberty motorcycle with him. The wife and I couldn't pass up a chance to hang out with good company and check out this year's bike. So off to Woodland Cigars in Delaware, Ohio we went. EVENT: CAO

House of Cigar (House_Of_Cigar on Twitter) in Powell, Ohio, hosted a CAO event tonight with my favorite cigar rep in the business, Miguel Schoedel. Miguel and I go back quite a few years now and it's always great to hang out with a old friend. I picked up some great swag and had a blast burning down a stick and shooting the breeze. Event: EO Cigars

House of Cigars in Powell, Ohio, hosted an event on Friday sponsored by EO Cigars. I had a great time hanging out with friends (and my very cool, cigar-smoking wife...who added this in during editing) and meeting the co-owner of EO, Eddie Ortega. Eddie is a great guy and I had a blast chatting with him about cigars and the industry. He even mentioned putting a trip to Nicaragua together for some bloggers, which had me all ears. A big thanks goes out to House of Cigars for hosting this event and to Eddie for his time and the gifts. It was a really great event!

Event: Tatuaje at New Havana Cigars

Saturday night, Dan at New Havana Cigars hosted Pete Johnson for a Tatuaje event.  They spent the day having an online specials sale and afterward, Dan invited a few BOTL over to his place for some cigars and drinks. A big thanks goes out to Dan for putting this on for us and providing complimentary cigars and drinks all night!  It was cool to meet Pete for the first time, also, and listen to some details on up-coming releases from Tatuaje.
